1972年、釧路湿原の将来を決めるため、釧路市に「釧路湿原対策特別委員会」が設置され、1年間にわたり協議をおこないました。

釧路自然保護協会はここで「国定公園構想」を提言し、湿原の保全に向けて、地域住民との合意形成に努めました。

In 1972 Kushiro City government set up the Kushiro Marsh Conservation Study Committee. Over the course of one year of study, the society developed the "National Park Plan" . Efforts to gain the support of surrounding communities was established towards marsh conservation.
