釧路市街地に最も近い自然林で樹齢350年のハルニレ、ミズナラの大樹が残されています。林床にはオオバナノエンレイソウの大群落があり、その保全のため市民の学習活動の場としています。

This is the closest virgin forest to downtown Kushiro. Trees such as Japanese elm, Oak trees about 350 years old are surviving in this forest. The forest is carpeted with large groups of wake robin (Obananoenreiso Trillium camschatcense).  We appeal to the public to preserve this forest. They also want to use this forest as a nature study area for Kushiro citizens.
