釧路自然保護協会は1971年ラムサールでの国際会議の動向に呼応して同年7月9日に設立しました。当時「日本列島改造」という国土開発が進行する中、釧路湿原の保全活動を展開してきました。

Nature Conservation Society of Kushiro was established in 1971 to comply with the call of the Ramsar Convention held in Ramsar, Iran in 1971. The society developed conservation movement ideas even though it faced the difficulty of progressing due to the highly influential land development programs formulated by the Japanese government.
