1980年、釧路湿原のラムサール条約登録湿地指定後、国内法の適用については国立公園にすべく、第2回の釧路湿原対策委員会の協議と併せて運動を進め、1987年に釧路湿原が国立公園に指定されました。

After the Kushiro Marsh was registered with the Ramsar Treaty in 1980, the committee began to a second wave of round-table talks. In order to apply domestic laws and make the marsh into the national park, the society working with the committee pushed their conservation movement forward. And as a result, the Kushiro Marsh was designated as the national park in 1987.
